Cloud copier vs NinjaTrader add-on

The main difference is where the copier runs. An add-on lives inside NinjaTrader 8 and copies between the accounts NinjaTrader is connected to. A cloud copier connects to the accounts themselves and runs on its own servers.

Why traders move from an NT8 add-on to the cloud

No single machine to babysit

When the copier runs inside NinjaTrader, copying depends on that one NT8 instance: Windows updates, a dropped connection, a frozen chart or a crash can all stop copies until you notice. CopyFlock runs independently of your computer, so a reboot or a closed laptop does not interrupt it.

No VPS bill or remote desktop

Who should pick which

• You want copying to keep running when your PC is off, restarting or offline.
• You do not want to pay for or maintain a VPS.
• Your accounts are on Tradovate, Rithmic or TopstepX, possibly across several prop firms.
• You sometimes trade the lead from R|Trader Pro, the Tradovate app or TopstepX instead of NT8.

An NT8 add-on like Replikanto may suit you better if…

• You need to copy accounts that only exist inside NinjaTrader, such as NT8 simulation accounts, which CopyFlock cannot see.
• Your accounts use a connection CopyFlock does not support, such as CQG.
• You already run NinjaTrader on a reliable VPS around the clock and are happy maintaining it.

What stays the same in NinjaTrader

Moving copying to the cloud does not change how you trade. Your charts, indicators, workspaces, hotkeys and ATM strategies stay exactly where they are in NinjaTrader 8. You still place orders on the lead account from NT8; the only difference is that the copying itself no longer happens inside NinjaTrader.

What changes is where you manage followers. Sizing, symbol aliases, caps and account protection live in the CopyFlock dashboard rather than in an NT8 window, and you can check them from a phone. The copy log shows every order CopyFlock sent, with the lead order it came from, which makes it easier to answer the question 'did that trade copy?' without remote-desktopping into a VPS.

If you use NinjaTrader with several prop accounts, you can also stop connecting every follower in NT8. Only the lead needs to be open in NinjaTrader, which keeps your account list short and reduces the chance of placing an order on the wrong account.

Switching from an NT8 add-on to CopyFlock

   Step 1: Record your settings

   Note follower ratios, symbol mappings and any risk limits configured in the add-on.

   Step 2: Disable the add-on copier

   Turn off copying in NinjaTrader so the two copiers never run together. Otherwise each lead trade would be copied twice.

   Step 3: Connect your accounts

   Add NinjaTrader brokerage accounts as Tradovate, and NT8 prop accounts that use a Rithmic login as Rithmic. Topstep accounts connect as TopstepX.

   Step 4: Recreate sizing

   Map your old ratios to a contract multiplier, equity-to-equity or fixed contracts, and add symbol aliases for any mini-to-micro mapping.

   Step 5: Test
